Testosterone therapy improves memory in postmenopausal women

Scientists identify genetic risk for major depression

Everything is likely that a combination of genetic and environmental risk contributing to major depression, the identification of genes that confer risk has been difficult because of the complexity of genetic and environmental factors associated with the disease significantly. Kohli and his colleagues have conducted a rigorous genome association of patients diagnosed with major depression and matched controls with no history of psychiatric illness. They identified SLC6A15, a gene that encodes a neuronal protein amino acid transporter as a novel susceptibility gene for major depression.
